Greener Pastures Recycling Company is formally registered as a youth-led initiative with a vision to provide industrial waste solutions. This marked the beginning of a bold mission to reshape the future of waste management in South Africa.
We officially begin operations, taking on small-scale recycling and building early relationships in the industrial sector. This year laid the operational groundwork for what would grow into a leading environmental services company.
We acquire our first operational asset—a Mahindra Bolero—and start waste collection for logistics companies in Kempton Park. This marked our hands-on entry into the industry and the start of on-the-ground service delivery.
We land our first waste management contract at Alex Mall and grow to six full-time staff. We’re featured on SABC 1’s Making Moves. We officially entered the commercial waste management space and gained national visibility.
We obtain our waste transportation license and expand to serve residential complexes. This legitimised our operation and opened doors to large-scale residential waste diversion.
A year focused on consolidating systems, refining processes, and stabilizing operations. This period of internal growth ensured we were ready for bigger challenges ahead.
We win the Nedbank Ignite award, join FNB SEIL, and partner with Mall of Thembisa. We add 8 new employees. These wins reinforced our credibility and attracted high-impact partnerships.
We launch a Packa-Ching Buy-Back Centre and purchase our first 4-ton truck. Five more employees join our team. This marked a shift into community empowerment and closed-loop waste recovery.
We buy a 1-ton Mahindra Scorpio, begin work at One Highveld Business Park, and launch our composting operations. Two more team members join. Composting brought us into the realm of organic waste transformation and regenerative practices.
We open 4 new sites and invest in a 4-ton FAW truck. 20 new employees are welcomed on board. This year was all about growth—people, vehicles, and service capacity.
We launch GP Landscaping, set up a scrapyard in Limpopo, add 20 skip bins, and grow the team by 17. This marked our most diverse and expansive year yet—entering new industries and regions.
We open 3 new sites in the Menlyn area, expanding our footprint in the capital city. Our footprint in Gauteng deepens as we position ourselves closer to regional commercial hubs.
